On arriving in Yerevan, you will be picked up from Zvartnots International Airport and taken to your hotel. A welcoming dinner will be served in the hotel.
After having breakfast in the hotel, you will visit the pagan temple of Garni and the astounding Geghard Monastery which is situated just 30 km from the temple of Garni. Never have paganism and Christianity been so close to each other! These two sights are deservedly considered a must see both for the locals and tourists. By the evening, you will be back in the hotel in Yerevan.
You will be taken to Tsakhkadzor, one of the most popular health resorts in Armenia. Winter Tsakhadzor is the perfect place to spend your day if you are a winter sports lover as it is an attractive ski and snowboard resort. Among other attractions of the town, you will visit the Kecharis Monastery, one of the most interesting religious complexes of Armenia. Afterwards, you will get the chance to escape from Yerevan’s summer heat and enjoy the changing colors and shades of Lake Sevan. We will stay overnight in Sevan.
Today’s program starts with the historical village of Noratus which is most famous for its cemetery and 2500 khachkars. Our next destination is the caravanserai of Selim, an excellent example of Armenian secular architecture of the middle ages. Afterwards, we will drive to Jermuk which is a popular spa town most famous for its fresh air, waterfalls, hot springs and mineral water. We will stay overnight in Jermuk.
If you are in Jermuk, don’t miss the opportunity to admire the beauty of Jermuk Waterfall. You are going to love this waterfall hidden down in the canyon! The next must see place in Jermuk is the Gallery of Waters. The water flowing out from the pipes is believed to cure illnesses and diseases! You will spend the evening in Old Goris. You may like to explore the caves in Goris.
On the 6th day of your vacation, you will be taken to Tatev Monastery and get the chance to ride the world’s longest cable car called the Wings of Tatev and enjoy the breathtaking view from the top! If you like thrilling adventures, then Tatev should be on your list of must see places in Armenia. We will leave for Nagorno Karabakh to visit the attractions and sights in the capital city Stepanakert, Shoushi and the village of Vanq.
Your tour continues and today’s trip starts with Gandzasar. Gandzasar Monastery has been deservedly considered to be a masterpiece of Armenian architecture by numerous art historians, as well as tourists. The Askeran Fortress (XVIII century) in the region of Askeran is a perfect historical place to visit for all the lovers of antiquity. The city of Goris will be our next stop.
Today’s itinerary includes visits to Noravank Monastery situated deep in the Noravank Canyon and Khor Virap Monastery. Due to its charming medieval architecture and magnificent landscape, the Noravank Complex is a must see whenever find yourself in Armenia! Once you get to Khor Virap, stop to admire and take photos of the spectacular view of Mount Ararat, the national symbol of Armenia. You will be taken to your hotel back in Yerevan.
Spend an additional day in Yerevan and enjoy it at its best! You will have a full day to explore Yerevan and its attractions!
